Guardian Australia Book Club: Jimmy Barnes

jimmybarnes.jpg

Guardian Australia’s book club’s next guest is a rock and roll icon, to be sure – but he’s also a killer memoirist. Working Class Boy and Working Class Man caused a literary sensation when they were released in 2016 and 2017, with Jimmy Barnes wrestling the demons of his traumatic childhood in the first, and chronicling the highs, lows and excesses of his latter life in the second.

And now we have a third. Killing Time is a volume of short stories that didn’t fit into the first two memoirs but, as Andrew Stafford writes, “these are more than leftovers: they’re essential stories from the spaces in between”.

Stafford will be hosting the discussion with Barnesy, and with you, in a discussion about love, life, music, family and writing.
